No Hawks Hockey School for Summer 2020

Date:  Source: OJHL Trenton Golden Hawks

For years now the Trenton Golden Hawks have held a hockey school during the summer months.

This tradition has seen players improve and excel in a fun, happy, and safe environment.

2020 has challenged all facets of life, including the sports world.

Due to the challenges currently in place, and the focus on safety, the Trenton Golden Hawks are sad to announce the cancellation of the 2020 Golden Hawks Hockey School.

John McDonald is the Director of Operations and oversees the Golden Hawks Hockey School. "It is certainly disappointing to come to this decision for our summer hockey school this year, but it is the right decision, as we keep the Health and Safety of our participants and staff a priority.  With all that has gone on since Hockey Canada step in and cancelled the 2019/2020 season, I would like to assure the Golden Hawks Fans and supporters that management has been working hard to put the past behind us and move on into the future.   Hockey Canada has put in a number off protocols which we are at present putting into affect at the arena."

McDonald added, "We have no idea when we will be allowed back on the ice or what the future of hockey will look like in the upcoming season, but Coach/GM Peter Goulet, myself, and our team are committed to ensuring we return when it is safe to do do.  We will have a outstanding team both off and on the ice."

He finished by stating, "We are committed as we always have been, to making every game, an outstanding family event and supporting our community to the best of our abilities.  We will do all we can in the community, but we will ensure those who take part are as safe as possible.  If there comes a time where we can re-schedule the hockey school in a safe manor, we will do so."
