The Stallions Hockey Club at WMU Division 1 Program is excited to begin accepting coaching applications for the upcoming season! As we move forward with this process, a club overview and some coaching expectations are listed below. For interested parties, please fill out the Coaching Application form, and we will be in touch shortly. 

About Our Team:

The Stallions Hockey Club at WMU Division 1 Program is a registered student organization at Western Michigan University, in compliance with the Sports Club Council at WMU and the Office of Student Engagement. A Club Board is elected each season to help lead the team in compliance with the University, and works with the General Manager and Head Coach towards improvement of the program. The Club Board and General Manager handles finances for the team, while working with the Head Coach to maintain a competitive hockey program. 

Coaching Expectations:

  • Serve as a positive role model for students and community members as a visible and public leader of the team. 
  • Guide and teach the team to meet the direction and goals set forth by the coaching staff, players, and General Manager. 
  • Prepare practice plans and participate in all games, practices, and league required events
  • Recruit new players to the program throughout the year
  • Meet regularly with the Club Board and General Manager for updates on club activities and plan
