1ST TEAM ALL-STARS
Jonah Alexander – St. Michael’s Buzzers
Jonah Alexander is wrapping up a four-year OJHL career that showed him progress as both a hockey player and mentor for other players. He completed the 2019-20 season with 78 points (25 goals/53 assists) – leading the Buzzers in assists. The Captain of the Buzzers previous point totals were 56, 34 and 27. The 20-year-old was named to the conference All-Star team for the 2019-20 OJHL All Star Celebration, scoring one goal for Team Burns at the inaugural event last November. Alexander led his team to a first-round sweep of division rivals the Toronto Patriots in OJHL playoffs this week.
2ND TEAM ALL-STARS
Ayrton Martino – St. Michael’s Buzzers
Ayrton Martino has been one of the most electric players in the OJHL during the 2019-20 season. This is only Martino’s second year in the OJHL and he finished with the second highest point total, ending the year with 79 points (29 G / 50 A) in only 48 games. The Buzzers are waiting to find out who their opponent will be in the second round of the OJHL playoffs after they swept the Toronto Patriots where Martino scored 2 goals and 5 assists for an impressive 6 points in 4 games. Martino was also selected to play in the 2019-20 OJHL All Star Prospect Game where he had 1 goal and 1 assist for Team Shore. Martino was voted the Buzzers Scotiabank Fan Favourite of the year. The Buzzers and fans will miss his presence next year as he will be playing for Clarkson University in NCAA Division 1.
2nd Team All Prospect
Ryan Alexander – St. Michael’s Buzzers
In the past season, Ryan Alexander has showed the OJHL why he is one of the most dynamic and skilled players in the league. Alexander starred and won silver with the Team Canada East at this season’s World Jr. A Challenge. Finishing the season with 58 points (18 G/40 A) in just 45 games placing him in 3rd in scoring on the St. Michael’s Buzzers. He continued his scoring ways in the 2019 OJHL All-Star celebration where he had 3 points (2 G/1 A) for Team Shore in the OJHL All Star Prospect game, tying 4 other players for the most points during their All-Star game. He was later selected to play in the CJHL Top Prospects game and is currently on the NHL watchlist. Alexander has helped the Buzzers to a first-round sweep of the Toronto Patriots where he scored 7 points (2 G/5 A) leading forwards in points. Alexander has committed to Arizona State University where he will be playing NCAA Division 1 hockey beginning in 2021-22. But he first must focus on meeting the North York Rangers in the second round of the 2020 OJHL Playoffs beginning later this week.
Ian Devlin – St. Michael’s Buzzers
Storied St. Mike’s recently advanced to the second round of the OJHL Playoffs, where Ian Devlin played a major role for their defensive core. In his rookie season, Devlin has 3 points (3 A) in the playoffs so far after recording 22 points (9 G/13 A) during the regular season. The Memphis native – the son of Toronto Raptors TV broadcaster Matt Devlin – has shown the OJHL in just one year that he is not to be messed with in his own zone.
