The CHMA Stars of the Week for February 4th are John Carroll University's John McMahon, Indiana University of PA's Tyler Kurtz, & Duquesne University's Kody Reiser. 

 

 

John McMahon - F - John Carroll University

2 Games - 3 Goals - 0 Assists - 3 Points

 

The senior forward helped the Blue Streaks bounce back from an 8-0 divisional loss vs Robert Morris University Friday night by scoring all 3 goals in a 3-1 win over Mercyhurst University on Saturday. Mercyhurst led the game 1-0 before McMahon potted a natural hat trick, to seal the come from behind victory. John Carroll has one final CHMA game remaining against the 8-1 conference leading University of Pittsburgh Panthers. 

 

 

Tyler Kurtz - G - Indiana University of Pennsylvania

1 Game - 1-0 Win - 27 Save Shutout 

 

Senior Goalie Tyler Kurtz slammed the door on Kent St earning his first shutout of the season, and enabling the Crimson Hawks to split the weekend with the Golden Flashes. IUP needed every one of Kurtz’s 27 save performance to pull out the 1-0 victory, capping IUP’s Autism Awareness event, where the team wore specially designed jerseys and raised money for Autism Speaks along with Sorority AxiD. 

 

 

Kody Reiser - F - Duquesne University 

2 Games - 2 Goals - 1 Assists - 3 Points

 

Sophomore Kody Reiser scored both goals in a 2-1 road win over West Virginia University Saturday night, leading the team to victory in a crucial CHMA conference matchup. The first year forward's efforts helped Duquesne stay in the hunt for the final playoff spot as they prepare for two more big conference games at home this weekend against Mercyhurst University Friday night, & Slippery Rock University on Saturday.
