The second round of the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) Pollock Division playoffs begin this week as the first rounds have wrapped up. Below you will find summaries of each matchup along with each team’s positional statistical leader.

Playoff Series:

(1) Mount Forest Patriots vs. Mitchell Hawks (4)

After a stellar regular season, the Mount Forest Patriots earned a bye to the second round of the postseason. They finished as the Pollock Division’s top team and have been on idle ever since. 

The Mitchell Hawks will face its second opponent of the 2020 postseason when they play Mount Forest in Game 1 Feb. 19. The Hawks are coming off of a series sweep over the Hanover Barons. The winner of the Mitchell/Mount Forest series will advance to the Pollock Division finals.

(1) Wingham Ironmen vs. Kincardine Bulldogs (3)

The Pollock Division semifinals series between the Wingham Ironmen and Kincardine Bulldogs gets under way Feb. 21 in Wingham. Both teams are coming off of successful opening rounds.

It took the Ironmen just four games to sweep the seventh place Walkerton Hawks in the Pollock Division quarterfinals. Each game, with the exception of Game 2 in that series was decided by one or two goals.

Kincardine’s opening round against the Goderich Flyers went five games, with the Bulldogs winning 4-1. The Bulldogs scored 23 goals in that series.
