HAWKS FALL TO COUGARS, REMATCH SET FOR FRIDAY IN TRENTON

The Golden Hawks closed out the weekend on Sunday with their 3rd game in 4 days, hosting the Cobourg Cougars. The Golden Hawks began the weekend facing the Cougars in Cobourg when the Hawks defeated the Cougars 9-1. 

 

Cobourg would take the lead in the first period, as former Golden Hawks Jacob Campbell got the Cougars on the board. Cobourg would add another in the last minute of the period to end the frame up 2-0. 

 

Cobourg would add another pair of goals in the 2nd, including a powerplay marker just under halfway through the period. 

 

Adam Kim (Kingston, ON) would get the Golden Hawks on the board in the 3rd, with Andrew Suriyuth (Kingston, ON) and Josh Wright (Woodstock, ON) picking up points on the G-Hawks lone goal. Cobourg would add an empty-netter and take this one by a final score of 5-1. 

 

Anand Oberoi (Kanata, ON) made 21 saves on 25 shots against in the loss. 

 

The Golden Hawks are back in action on Friday as we host the Cougars in a re-match after Sunday's defeat. At the game, Prince Charles Elementary School's choir will be in attendance to sing the national anthem and the Prom Project will be collecting donations of gently worn formal wear for students who lack the attire for graduation this summer.
