Jonathan Pasillas, after playing two seasons (2018 & 2019) with the Miners, now returns to Beckley for the 2020 Prospect League season in a assistant coaching role as he no longer has any eligibility remaining to play any sort of collegiate baseball.  He is on schedule to graduate in May, 2020 with a B.A. Degree in Communications from Missouri Baptist University.

The summer of 2019 saw him journey to Beckley initially for what was to be a short stay when he was signed to a 10-day temporary player contract on May 24, 2019 to begin the schedule that later transitioned to him remaining with the squad for the entire 2019 Prospect League season.  He proved the move to keep him on board as being a good one by hitting .312 (59-for-189) in 53 games while clubbing 7 homers, scoring 37 runs, and driving home an additional 37 Miners’ baserunners. He also had additional extra-base hitting prowess by finishing among the Prospect League’s top five in 2019 in doubles with 17 on the season.  He played with injuries a significant portion of the 2019 campaign that included him playing several different positions for the Miners.

Pasillas also played several vital roles for the Miners during his first Prospect League season in 2018 by appearing in 38 games and logging a .234 batting average (26-for-111). He was first on the Miners during the 2018 Prospect League season in homers (4) and doubles (13) while also being fourth on the team in RBI with 21 in addition to providing another 20 runs scored himself (5th on team).

His two seasons for the Miners had the sort of production that concluded with his name being among the top five Miners in the franchise’s all-time career record book in three offensive categories: 30 doubles (tied for 2nd in franchise history), 11 homers (tied for 2nd in franchise history), and 41 extra-base hits (3rd in franchise history).

Pasillas last two college seasons (concluding with the 2019 spring season) were played at Missouri Baptist, where he had two-season totals of appearing in 60 games and hitting with success, which was proven with a .331 batting average (56-for-169). This included 14 doubles, 7 homers, and 43 RBI to go along with 29 runs scored.

Prior to arriving at MBU, he played collegiately for El Camino College in Torrance, CA. His High school playing career was spent at Lakewood (CA) High School, where he had a stellar .343 career batting average (79-for-230) in 76 games to go along with a career on-base percentage of .408.
