KUZMIN INKS PRO DEAL IN RUSSIA

Daniil Kuzmin of the Brantford 99ers (photo credit – Tim Bates / OJHL Images) has has signed a two-year contract with Dynamo Tver of the VHL, the second level of Russian pro hockey, the 99ers announced this week.

“Danill is great big, powerful hard-working forward and, although our team will miss his presence, this is a great opportunity for this young man and we wish him all the success he deserves,” said 99ers General Manager Darren DeDobbelaer.

The 6-foot-4 native of Lipetsk, Russia played five games in Brantford after coming over from the Mississauga Chargers in a mid-season OJHL trade.

Last season, he tallied 17 points in 25 games with the OJHL South Division champion North York Rangers.

He played for the Moncton Wildcats in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League during the 2017-18 season, following minor midget and midget years with the Markham Majors.
