Kentucky Set to Join the TSCHL for the 2020-2021 Season.

The TSCHL will gain a new member with the University of Kentucky set to join The T next fall.

The Tri-State Collegiate Hockey League is excited to announce the addition of the University of Kentucky Wildcats.  The Wildcats will begin TSCHL play in the 2020-2021 season and will bring the number of TSCHL teams to nine. 

Currently, the Wildcats play an independent schedule, but have a long history of games against TSCHL teams -- including archrival Louisville.  This season, Kentucky has played or will play six of the league's eight teams.  Thus far, the Wildcats have compiled a record of 4-4 against the T -- splitting series against Dayton, Louisville, Xavier and Indiana.  Kentucky is set to play a two-game series against Miami (OH) this weekend and a two-game series against Ohio in early January.

“Kentucky is a perfect fit for our league on numerous levels. Their long history of success -- on and off the ice, the manner in which the program is run and funded, and their geographic location made this a no brainer, in fact, it was long overdue,” said TSCHL Commissioner Tim Driscoll. 

When asked about joining The T, Kentucky Head Coach Tim Pergram offered, “We feel the week in, week out competition against top ranked opponents in the TSCHL will be appealing.  Our fans will be thrilled to have new opponents to welcome to “The Barn” which offers a great atmosphere for hockey. We are very honored to be joining a group of incredible college hockey teams in the TSCHL.  We are looking forward to the 20-21 season in the TSCHL.”

Puck drop for tonight's game between Kentucky and Miami (OH) is set for 9:45PM.  Saturday's game is scheduled for 12:00PM.  Both games will be played in Oxford, OH.
