The Stallions traveled to Kent State last weekend and walked away with two wins, and more importantly six points towards the GLCHL standings.
On Friday, the Stallions walked away with a hard fought 5-2 victory. Avery Matthews, John Desmond, and Mitch Maddalena each scored their first goals of the season, while Drew Wotta added two more to bring him up to seven on the season. Alex Hufford backstopped the Stallions, making 22 saves on 24 shots for his third victory of the season.
Saturday night brought much of the same, as the Stallions again defeated the Flashes 5-2. Western would score the first four goals, as Brennan Osen, Corey Siwula, John Desmond, and Joey Zappa all recorded goals. Mitch Maddalena would also score his second of the season, while Hufford picked up his fourth win, stopping 35 of 37 shots against.
Western Michigan will play a home and home series against Toledo this weekend, Friday night in Toledo, and a 8:45 puck drop at Wings West on Saturday night.
