The WMU Stallions Hockey Club will open the season ranked 20th in the nation according to the pre-season ACHA coaches poll. 

Along with the Stallions, GLCHL rivals Adrian College and Davenport University are ranked in the Top 25, coming in at #5 and #7 respectively. Kent State University also received votes in the coaches poll, but was left just outside the Top 25. 

Other notable ranked opponents that the Stallions will face this season include the University of Arizona (#10), Colorado State University (#24), and Indiana Technological University (#25).
