Sunday the final day of play had 4 teams remaining, Etobicoke, Milton, Newmarket, and Oakville. Morning games had Etobicoke square off against Oakville and Miton vs.Newmarket.
Etobicoke was defeated in 8 innings in a contested battle with a final score of 4-2. Milton triumphed over undefeated Newmarket handing them their first loss.
With 3 teams remaining a draw for the bye was necessary. As Oakville already had a bye earlier in the tournament Milton and Newmarket vied for the bye with Newmarket winning a birth to the final. This saw Miton and Oakville facing off to win the last spot. After an exciting game that saw the score see-saw over 12 innings Milton was victorious knocking out Oakville.
Milton and Newmarket were set for the final game. Milton's team hung in there throughout but fell short to a rested Newmarket squad with a score of 4-3. Congratulations to both teams on their achievement, and thanks for all the great baseball we witnessed this weekend
