Lakers’ Church Named WLA Player of the Week

The Western Lacrosse Association has announced that Burnaby Lakers forward Robert Church been named the WLA Player of the Week for the week ending July 22, 2019. 

The MVP candidate from Burnaby had another spectacular week, as he had seven goals and nine assists this week for the Lakers. Church leads the league in points with 81 and goals with 38 while sitting second in assists with 43. With Burnaby entering the week in fourth place, Church and the Lakers can earn a postseason spot with a win over the Nanaimo Timbermen on Friday. 

Catch Church and the Lakers this Friday as they host the Nanaimo Timbermen at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre. Game time is 7:00 PM and you can catch all the action live on WLA TV
