The Stouffville Spirit opens training camp ahead of the 2019-20 Ontario Junior Hockey League season Aug. 12 at the Stouffville Arena.

The Spirit, which returns several players from last year, has made a number of off-season signings and trades ahead of camp.

New Head Coach Andre Darlow and his staff will hold an intra-squad game Aug. 14 in advance of an eight-game preseason schedule.

The exhibition slate includes four games at the inaugural OJHL preseason tournament Aug. 15 to 18 at Westwood Arena in Etobicoke. The Spirit will play the Georgetown Raiders, Trenton Golden Hawks, Burlington Cougars and North York Rangers.

The Spirit’s other exhibition games are home-and-home affairs against a pair of OJHL clubs from Toronto.

The Spirit and St. Michael’s Buzzers meet in Toronto Aug. 23 then in Stouffville the next night. The Toronto Jr. Canadiens visit Stouffville Aug. 29. The same teams meet the next afternoon at the Scotiabank Pond in Toronto.

The OJHL regular season is expected to begin in early September.
