Date:  Source: Chillicothe Paints

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, have five players headed to the 2019 Prospect League All-Star Game presented by State Farm at the Corn Crib in Normal, Illinois, July 22 & 23.

Pitchers Zach Kendall (University of Rio Grande) and Nate Haugh (University of Toledo), pitcher/outfielder Cody Orr (Tiffin University), catcher Cole Andrews and infielder Gavin Homer (Penn State University) will represent the Paints and the East Division against the West Division at the league's showcase event July 23.

Kendall, a Troy, Ohio, native, is 3-0 with a 2.43 ERA through six starts this season. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound, right-handed pitcher has surrendered nine earned runs on 27 hits over 33 1/3 innings, striking out 35 and walking 13. His ERA leads the league among pitchers who have thrown enough innings to quality (0.8 innings per team game). Opponents are hitting just .221 against Kendall, the fifth-best in the league.

Haugh, from Waterville, Ohio, currently leads the Prospect League with nine saves. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound, right-hander currently owns a 2.45 ERA over a league-high 16 appearances. After his first two outings of the year, Haugh has allowed just two earned runs on six hits over 15 innings. In 22 innings this season, Haugh has 34 strikeouts while walking six batters.

Orr is from Rossford, Ohio, and has appeared in 33 of 41 games for the Paints this season, six as a starting pitcher and 27 in the batting order. His 2.96 ERA would rank among the league leaders, but Orr falls a few innings short of qualifying. Over 27 1/3 innings, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound right hander has allowed nine earned runs on 23 hits, striking out 18 and walking seven. Until his last start, Orr's ERA was 1.37. As a batter, typically the Paints' leadoff hitter and centerfielder, Orr is hitting .354, which is good enough for sixth in the Prospect League. His seven triples lead the league, he's third in the league in on-base percentage at .492, his 16 stolen bases (on 17 attempts) rank fourth, he's tied for ninth in walks with 25 and ranks 10th in slugging at .626.

Andrews is a native of Powell, Ohio, and currently leads the Prospect League with 42 RBIs. The 6-foot, 195-pound catcher and designated hitter has played in 40 of the Paints' 41 games this season and is hitting .316. He is tied for the league lead in sacrifice flies (5), ranks sixth in at bats (152), eighth in hits (48) and is tied for 10th in home runs (8). Andrews has also spent some time at first base this summer.

Homer is a 5-foot-9, 185-pound, utility player from Battle Creek, Mich., and has played in 38 of the Paints' 41 games this season. He is currently hitting .336 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs, ranking 15th, third and seventh in the league, respectively. Homer ranks fifth in slugging (.664) and runs created (37.2), ninth in hits (47), 11th in runs scored (33), is tied for 12th in doubles (9), and ranks 15th in OPS (1.088). From June 7 to July 2, Homer hit in 22 consecutive games, tied for the longest such streak in the Prospect League this season.
