COLLINGWOOD LEADS OJDL PACK

The Collingwood Colts hope their first season in the Ontario Junior Hockey League goes as well as their inaugural campaign in the Ontario Junior Development League.

Collingwood (5-1) is in first place in the 10-team spring league operated by the OJHL.

Ryan Mackey scored twice to lead Collingwood to a 5-2 win over the Toronto Patriots in Oshawa Sunday.

Later that day, Nate Robertson had a pair of goals in Collingwood’s 7-1 win over Brampton.

Kyler Watson of Collingwood is tied with Thomas Zechariah of Cobourg East for the league lead in points with 10.

Cobourg East and Whitby are both 4-1, good for a second-place tie.

Collingwood’s OJHL team, which moved from Kingston this spring, announced its first signings this week.

OJDL play resumes Sunday with games in Oshawa and Oakville. The schedule ends June 30.
