2018 was a year epic magnitudes for the Coquitlam Adanacs, but not in a positive way. They only won two games last season, a franchise low in wins and a league worse since the 2009 Burnaby Lakers. Over the winter, the Adanacs made several moves that many believe could put them into the playoffs for the first time since 2013.

With the first overall selection in the WLA Draft, the Adanacs took star goaltender Christian Del Bianco from the Junior Adanacs of the BCJALL. Del Bianco averaged less than 6 goals a game in Junior A in 2018 and has made two WLA appearances in the past, including a start with the Victoria Shamrocks. After winning a Minto Cup with the Junior Adanacs in 2016, he will be the man trusted with leading this team to a Mann Cup.

Up front, many of the top scorers for the Adanacs in 2018 are back in the purple and gold in 2019. Dean Fairall and Matt Delmonico each had 52 points last season for Coquitlam and joining them on the attack is Adam Dickson. Coming over in a trade from Maple Ridge, Dickson had 25 points in 17 games for the Burrards and brings over postseason experience, having played in the Mann Cup last year.

The Adanacs kick off the season hosting the Burnaby Lakers this Saturday at the Palace at Poirier. Fans can see the game on WLA TV and fans can get their tickets at the door.
