Texas Collegiate Hockey Conference to Host Annual Recruitment Camp Aug. 2-4

Date:  Source: ACHA

Every year, the Texas Collegiate Hockey Conference hosts a recruitment camp in Texas that includes a college fair.  The TCHC is part of the ACHA Division II West region and includes Texas A&M, University of Texas, Texas Christian University, Dallas Baptist, University of North Texas, East Texas Baptist, University of Texas - El Paso and Texas State.  The weekend includes four (4) games per team, an All-Star game, teams coached by the current TCHC players/coaches, jersey and host hotel.  The cost of the camp is $225 for forwards/defense and $175 for goalies, which also includes the jersey and a sit down lunch just before the college fair.  This is the 4th annual event, starting with 75 players, then ballooning up to 175.  We have capped the event at 136 players.

The focal point of the weekend is the college fair.  The TCHC brings in a few guest speakers that have included Jay Peacock, Chris Perry and Bobby Reynolds.  The speakers will talk about the ACHA, preparing for college and the opportunities the are available at the collegiate level.  Following the guest speakers, we invite the University admissions/orientation departments to say a few words before letting the student-athletes and their families visit booths for each school, gather information and talk directly with the hockey staff and school staff.
