BROCK WELSH COMMITS TO USPORTS' NIPISSING

Brock Welsh of the Cobourg Cougars (photo credit – Tim Bates/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Nipissing University Lakers in North Bay beginning with the 2019-20 season.

Welsh’s OJHL career includes parts of three years with the Whitby Fury and single seasons with the Aurora Tigers and Cobourg.

He had 61 points (19 goals/42 assists) in 37 games with Cobourg, who won the OJHL East Division regular season title this year.

The 21-year-old from Barrie also played 13 games with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League in 2015-16.

Welsh played minor midget with the Barrier Colts and a year of midget with the Orillia Terriers,

The OJHL, the largest Jr. A hockey league in Canada, had more than 135 commitments in 2017-18, including 65 NCAA Division I scholarships.
