The Stallions are excited to announce their second commitment to their 2019-2020 recruiting class, as they sign forward Drew Wotta for the upcoming season.

Wotta joins the Stallions after playing for the Louisiana Drillers in the NA3HL last season. With the Drillers, Wotta tallied 19 goals and 18 assists for a total of 37 points in 30 games, and was named to the NA3HL South Division’s Top Prospects Roster.

Drew learned to skate at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor, where he was originally from. One of his best hockey memories comes from when he won the regional championship during his senior year of high school while playing for Big Rapids. “I’ve had tons of great memories throughout my youth, high school, and junior hockey careers, but nothing quite lived up to winning that championship in overtime,” Wotta added.

When asked about why he chose Western, Wotta said, “I love the feel of Kalamazoo and WMU. It’s close to home and strong academically. I hope to achieve good grades and thrive at the business school while winning a ton of hockey games.”
