Team Ontario Lacrosse has come full-circle with its program! Team Ontario Lacrosse is pleased to welcome back player-alumni Rachael McKinnon as an Assistant Coach with the U19 Women's Field Lacrosse team. Rachael played box lacrosse and field lacrosse as a teenager in Whitby, Ontario, and played for the Team Ontario Lacrosse Junior Women's Box Lacrosse team in 2013 and 2015.  Rachael was a leader with her Team Ontario squad, named an assistant captain in both years. The Canadian Lacrosse Association also named Rachael to the All-Star team in both 2013 and 2015 at the National Championships.

Rachael graduated from the University of Denver in 2016 playing field lacrosse in all four years with the Pioneers, helping Denver to a Conference Championship in 2014, scoring 53 points that season. She scored 121 points in her Pioneers career. In 2013, McKinnon was named the team's Most Valuable Freshmen. In 2017 Rachael accepted a women's field lacrosse assistant coaching position with Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, U.S.A, where she is pursuing a Master's degree in Instructional Leadership at RMU while completing her MBA in Sports Management

Bruce Codd, the Director of Lacrosse Operations for Team Ontario, is very happy to have Rachael back in the fold. "Rachael is obviously a very talented lacrosse player, and has been able to use her playing knowledge in her coaching career. We are very pleased to have Rachael as a part of our U19 Women's Field Lacrosse team coaching staff.  She is a very positive role-model for all of our female lacrosse players, and will bring a wealth of knowledge to our team."

Rachael is very pleased to be back wearing the Team Ontario colours once again: “I am very excited to be back with Team O!”  And, we are excited to have her back!

Rachael will join Head Coach Matt Pagano, Assistant Coach Pat Morris and General Manager Maureen Howson as a member of the 2019 Team Ontario U19 Women’s Field Lacrosse team coaching staff.  The team will compete at the Canadian Lacrosse Association’s U19 Women’s Field Lacrosse National Championship, August 5-6, 2019 in Peterborough, Ontario.
