The Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League announced their 2019 league awards and two Stallions earned honors.
#27 Wyatt Ford – Forward – 2nd Team All-League
Senior, Aviation
Ann Arbor, MI
Ford posted the best numbers of his college career this season, with 25 goals and 21 assists in 36 games. Ford led the Stallions in goals and points and was tied for 3rd in the GLCHL in goals (12) and tied for 4th in points (22). Ford was also tied for 16th overall in the ACHA for goals.
Ford eclipsed several career milestones this year, scoring his 50th goal, making his 50th assist and scoring his 100th point as a Stallion.
#55 Christian Sana – Forward – All Defensive Team
Senior, Aviation Flight Science & Aviation Business Managment
Willowbrook, IL
The 2018-19 season was Sana’s fourth and best season of college hockey with the Stallions. Sana doubled his point production from last season, scoring 10 goals and making 10 assists for 20 total points. Sana has also been durable, playing in 103th collegiate games during his career.
#33 Alex Hufford – Goaltender – All-Rookie Team
Sophomore, Sports Management
Portage, MI
Hufford joined the Stallions this year after playing for the Wisconsin Whalers in the NA3HL for the last two years. Hufford posted a 22-10 record with the Stallions this season, with a 3.78 goals against average and a .912% save percentage and 3 shutouts. Hufford was tied for 2nd in the GLCHL with 7 wins and led the GLCHL in saves (423).
If the ACHA website reported stats for all goalies, Hufford would rank in the top 5 in Wins, Minutes Played, and Saves.
