HUNTERSVILLE, NC (March 21, 2019) - Today, the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced plans for the live broadcast of the SPHL’s Challenge Round matchups. This year’s show will be on Sunday, April 7 and will be hosted by Matthew Harding and Mike Campos from TheSinBin.net.

The live show will air on the official SPHL Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/thesphl/) and will run from 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. EDT/6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. CDT. The show will feature a live broadcast of exclusive analysis and discussion of the first round pairings as teams select their opponents for the second season of the Challenge Round.

“The excitement and uncertainty of last season’s inaugural Challenge Round proved to be exactly what we were looking for when we adopted this format,” stated Doug Price, commissioner of the SPHL. “I think fans can expect to see much of the same again this year and we’re excited to be working with The Sin Bin on this live announcement show.”

The show will also feature the coaches of the top four teams as guests to discuss their Challenge Round choices. In addition, Quad City head coach and former SPHL player Dave Pszenyczny will join the broadcast to provide analysis and share his predictions and viewpoints.

“We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to host the show this year. Our sincere thanks to commissioner Doug Price and the SPHL for entrusting us with this huge platform for the league,” said Matthew Harding, editor-in-chief of TheSinBin.net.

Fans are encouraged to tune in for a preview show 30 minutes before the Challenge Round show, as well as a brief wrap-up show once the announcements have been made.

For the Challenge Round, the top three teams in the playoffs will have the opportunity to select their first-round opponent from the 5-8 seeded teams. The #1 seed will select their Challenge Round opponent first. The #2 seed will then select their opponent from the remaining three teams, followed by the #3 seed selection from the remaining two teams. The #4 seed will play the team that was not selected. All series are best-of-three.
