ACHA Men’s Division Two Southeast Regionals Preview

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Buckeyes defeated Xavier University Friday night however fall short to Miami University in the battle for the conference title.

 

The Buckeyes headed to Louisville Kentucky this past weekend to compete in the TSCHL Tri-State Collegiate Hockey League 2018-2019 Championship.

 

Heading into the weekend with an overall record of  14-8-0, the Buckeyes took on Xavier University holding a season record of  8-12-2. The Buckeyes came out on top, with the final of the game being 4-3. Scoring for the Buckeyes was Brady, Kwestel, Shimko, and Walsh.

 

The following day, the Buckeyes played Miami University, holding a season record of 17-10-0. The Buckeyes fell short, the final score of the game being 4-1 in favor of Miami. The lone goal for the Buckeyes came from Tyler Brady, with the assist on the goal coming from JP Shimko.

 

“We fell short against a high caliber team,” said head coach Andrew Wilson. “Our play last weekend bodes well for our first matchup against Virginia and other teams like Cincinnati and Liberty.”

 

The Buckeyes are now looking ahead to the ACHA Men’s Division Two Southeast Regionals, located in Lynchburg, Virginia from March 1-3. Here, the #10 Buckeyes are set to play #11 University of Virginia as they begin their quest for the tittle.
