2025-2026 D1 Schedule Released
Date: Jul 7, 2025
TCNJ came into the weekend licking their wounds from last weekend's poor start to the semester and with three league games on tap they needed to turn things around quickly. On Friday night they traveled to Wall Township to take on Monmouth and freshman Jack Fitzgerald would get his first college start in net. The Lions controlled the play early and Patrick Coyle would break the ice with perfectly placed shot glove side, right under the crossbar for the only goal of the first period. Less than two minutes into the second Matthew Lojewski would make it 2-0 and after Monmouth cut the lead to 2-1 Andrew Summa would score late in the second to restore the two goal lead. TCNJ would break the game open in the third with five goals from Viducic, Anderson, Martin and two from Summa to complete his first college hat trick! Fitzgerald would stop 28 of 30 to earn his first career win in his first career start!
On Saturday the Lions returned home to take on NJIT. TCNJ would carry the play in the first and Ryan Anderson would get the games first goal with a top shelf snipe. In the second the Lions would increase the lead to 3-0 after goals from Will Dimock and Travis Beni but NJIT would make it a one goal game late in the second, they would then tie it at three nine minutes into the third. Dan Martin would continue his hot start to the semester with two goals late in the third to give TCNJ a big 5-3 win, freshman Mike Lojewski would have a good bounce back game with 24 saves in the win.
Looking to sweep the weekend the Lions traveled to Scranton in a rematch of last year's Colonial Cup championship game. Already missing center Kris Hastings they found out just before they game they would be without leading scorer JP Kelly after suffering an injury on Saturday. The game would have a pretty even start but the Lions would break the ice first with a goal from Kevin Broskie on a nice tip in but Scranton would answer just over a minute later and would control the play for the remainder of the period but Mike Lojewski would stand tall to keep it tied at one. In the second period Scranton would get a lucky bounce and would score on a shorthanded break but the Lions would answer on a great shift by Dimock's line with Anthony DeAlto finishing off a rebound. Scranton would retake the lead on a 3 on 2 rush but yet again the Lions would respond with a goal from Dan Martin, much like the first period Mike Lojewski would shut the door to keep it tied at 3 after the second. TCNJ would carry most of the play in the third and Ryan Anderson would put the Lions ahead with a PPG with just under four minutes left and then Marc Tietjen would make it 5-3 a couple minutes later. Lojewski was a monster in net making 44 saves to seal the 5-3 win.
