IU 6- UK 5 (OT)- Friday
Indiana opened the game red hot on Friday night, scoring three goals to take a 3-0 lead in the opening period. A pair of Christian Schurmann-Colicchio goals, and an Armand Uomoleale tally, gave the Hoosiers a hot start at Frank Southern Ice Arena against UK netminder Eric Williams.
After a scoreless second period, IU added a fourth goal on a Matthew Herbst goal 1:25 into the third period, giving the Hoosiers a 4-1 lead.
Following a UK goal at the 8:15 mark, Indiana scored their fifth goal of the night on Vladislav Khrushch's first goal in the last nine games entering Friday, putting IU up 5-1.
Then, chaos broke out.
Kentucky scored four unanswered goals in the final 15 minutes of the third period, including the game-tying goal with five seconds remaining in the game to force overtime against IU goaltender Cameron McNamara.
In the extra frame, Colicchio scored the game-winning goal on the power-play, the lone man advantage goal in seven opportunities for IU, securing the win 6-5.
IU 7- UK 4 (Saturday)
IU broke the seal at the 4:45 mark in the first, on Uomoleale's second goal of the season, putting IU up 1-0.
UK answered less than four minutes later on a shot from the point which deflected off a stick in the slot past IU starter Stephen Gaisor to tie the game 1-1.
IU scored their second goal of the game on Colicchio's fourth tally of the weekend on a redirected shot past UK starter Jeff Ison to put IU up 2-1.

In the second period, UK controlled the offensive pace, scoring a pair of unanswered goals in the middle frame to take a 4-3 lead, their first lead of the entire weekend against IU.
Immediately following UK's go-ahead goal, IU head coach Andrew Newman pulled Gaisor in favor of Joseph Stebbins with 3:13 remaining in the second.
Saturday was the second time in the last three starts Gaisor had failed to finish in net.
The cream and crimson slammed the door in the third, turning in a reciprocated four goal third period of their own on Saturday, with goals from Everhett Grimes, additional Herbst and Uomoleale goals and a Cade Kenyon goal on a 2-1 break with 41 seconds remaining in the game to secure the win for IU 7-4.
IU returns to action on Feb. 8 against Michigan State University in Game One of a two-game set in East Lansing, MI.
The Hoosiers finish the season with four consecutive games against Great Midwest Hockey League opponents (Trine University Feb. 15/16), before ending the season against D1 University of Illinois on March 8-9.
