MINOT, N.D. -- In what has always been one of the oldest hockey rivalries in the state of North Dakota hits the ice Thursday night as the Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks face the Beavers for the one and only time. The Beavers host the Jacks 7:00pm on Thursday night. The Beavers swept the season series last year 3-0. The Jacks enter this weekend on a small losing skid, losing all for games in a recent showcase. The Beavers enter the weekend as one of the hottest teams in the country. 9-0-1 in their last 10 including a sweep of UMary two weeks ago. The Jacks are lead in scoring by Kyle Peters with 22 points in 20 games.

"The history of these two programs goes a long way back." Said Head Coach Wade Regier. "Its a rivalry that has been heated ever since Minot State adopted hockey in 1995. Its a rivalry with a rich tradition. I enjoy talking to the boys about the rivalry as far back as when I was a player. We look forward to hosting them on Thursday."

On Scheels Game night on Saturday night, the Beavers will lock horns with Williston State. Game time is 7:30pm at the Pepsi Rink.  The Beavers swept the Tetons in the first weekend meeting. Beating the Tetons 8-1 in game one, in Minot. Then beating the Tetons 6-4 in Watford City the next night. The Tetons enter the weekend on fire, winning five in a row, including winning all four games on a recent, big road trip to Colorado. The Tetons are are lead in scoring by Ryan Gruszka with 40 points in 25 games. The Beavers head to Williston for a rare Sunday night tilt.
