Meet the 2019 Clippers - Tre Morris

Date:  Source: GLCBL: Muskegon Clippers

Tre Morris enjoyed a stellar prep career as a two-sport athlete at Battle High School in Columbia, Missouri. His exploits on the football field are well documented. It was there that he set school records with 418 career tackles and 159 single-season tackles in 2018 which included a record setting 24 tackles in a single game from his linebacker position. In addition to his accomplishments on the gridiron, Tre saved some of his finest moments for the baseball diamond. In 2017 Perfect Game honored him as Preseason Underclass All-American and in 2018 rated him the number two catching prospect in the State of Missouri. He was a highly recruited baseball player and spurned offers from Arkansas, Missouri State, and Tennessee to stay home and play in the Southeastern Conference for the hometown Missouri Tigers. Tre's baseball coach at Battle High School had this to say about his decision to pursue his baseball career at the University of Missouri. “We are extremely happy for Tre and his family on his commitment to Mizzou! He’s as fierce a competitor as you’ll find out there, and with his work ethic, I’m sure he’ll compete for playing time right away in the best D-I baseball conference in the country.”

Tre was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri and is the son of Mike and Heather Morris. He comes from an athletic family. His father Mike, played football collegiately at Mizzou where he was four-year starter at guard and an All-Big 12 selection. Tre has one sister, Addie and is majoring in Sports Management.

We are thrilled to have Tre join our Clipper family and are certain that Clipper fans will enjoy watching this young man play. Welcome to Muskegon Tre!
