2025-2026 D1 Schedule Released

Bloomington, IN-- The #18 Indiana Hoosiers came up short for the second night in a row, falling to #5 Grand Valley State 3-2 on Saturday night at Frank Southern Ice Arena. The loss puts Indiana (13-7-3), at 2-4 in Great Midwest Hockey League play while the Lakers (10-8-1-1), improve to an even 4-4 in GMHL play.
GVSU 3- IU 2
The Lakers, opposite to Friday night, opened with a pair of goals scored in the opening period. The first goal, a wrister by Trevor Zenas in the slot past the glove side of IU goaltender Joseph Stebbins, put the Grand Valley State up 1-0 at the 6:20 mark. The second, a power-play goal scored by Cameron Dyde within two minutes from Zenas' goal put GVSU up 2-0 after the first frame.
Following a scoreless second period, the Lakers added their third goal of the game on Zenas' second goal of the game at the 5:30 mark in the frame.
Zenas finished the weekend with four goals in the two-game set.
Indiana broke the shutout with a Christian Schurmann-Colicchio slapshot from the blue line past the glove side of GVSU goaltender Jared Maddock, cutting the Lakers lead 3-1 with 12:43 remaining in the game.
The Hoosiers cut the lead to one goal on a rebound goal scored by Matthew Herbst with 2:38 left in the third, bringing the score to 3-2.
Despite multiple attempts with an extra attacker, the Hoosiers couldn't beat Maddock, falling by a final of 3-2.
The win improved Maddock to a 4-0 career record against Indiana, while Stebbins fell to 0-4 all-time against GVSU.
The Hoosiers return to action on Friday, January 25th against the University of Kentucky in the final game at Frank Southern Ice Arena this season.
The game is also held in conjunction with the Kappa Delta sorority.
