The 5-foot-8 forward’s OJHL-best 12 goals included six on the power play, three shorthanded and two game-winners.
Luciani and the red-hot Royals are challenging the Aurora Tigers for the North Division lead.
The 20-year-old from Woodbridge joined the Royals midway through last season from the Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. He had 32 points in 30 OJHL games in 2017-18.
Luciani had 58 points in 50 games and was MVP with the Jr. B St. Mary’s Lincolns in 2016-17. The previous season, he played AA midget for Duffield Devils in the GTHL.
Jordan Crocker of the Georgetown Raiders was runner-up to Luciani as the North-West Conference Player-of-the-Month. The Brampton native had three goals – all on the power play – and 14 assists in nine games. Crocker is in his fourth OJHL season with Georgetown.
