KINGS SIGN DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST OHIO STATE SHORTSTOP NOAH WEST

ELKVILLE, IL - The Kings have signed 21-year-old, Ohio State University junior, Noah West, the former No. 1 ranked shortstop in Ohio by Prep Baseball Report and Perfect Game, to a contract for the 2019 season.

The 6'0", 180-pound infielder is a 2016 graduate from Westerville Central High School in Westerville, Ohio, where he was ranked the No. 1 shortstop in the Buckeye State after being named First Team Ohio Capital Conference, First Team All-Central District, Columbus Dispatch All-Metro and the Scholar-Athlete Award.

In his senior year as the team captain, West known for his defensive skills, soft hands, easy range, and fluid actions, hit .400 with an impressive .516 on-base percentage, 43 runs scored, 39 hits, 14 doubles, one home run, 17 RBI, 21 walks and 16 stolen bases.

In his freshman season for the Buckeyes, West made 30 starts for Ohio State, 27 at second and three at short. He batted .213 with 11 runs scored, three doubles, a triple, a home run and six runs batted in.

As a sophomore, West batted .223 (29-for-130) with 18 runs scored, six doubles, a home run, 21 RBI with 26 walks in 45 games with 38 starts at shortstop.

West has earned the 2018 Academic All-Big Ten and Two-Time OSU Scholar-Athlete Award (2017-18) honors at Ohio State.
