DAWGS SIGN ROOKIE FORWARD MATT QUILTY
Quilty to open pro career on injured reserve
ROANOKE, Va. – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Wednesday that rookie forward Matt Quilty has been signed to a contract. Quilty has also been placed on injured reserve.
Quilty arrives in the Roanoke Valley set to begin his professional career after playing the last four seasons for Plattsburgh State. During his time with the Cardinals he appeared in 94 games and scored 22 goals along with 31 assists. He scored a career-high eight goals with ten assists during his senior season in 2017-18 and led the SUNYAC with three shorthanded goals. Quilty was also a teammate of current Rail Yard Dawg Dillan Fox at Plattsburgh for two seasons from 2014-16.
The Rail Yard Dawgs return to action for a pair of home games this weekend, both against the Evansville Thunderbolts. Saturday night is WYYD Country Cares for St. Jude Night featuring live music from Adam Rutledge. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 PM on both Friday and Saturday at Berglund Center.
