Longwood, FL – In just over a week’s time, the Florida League will be hosting our annual Celebrity Golf Tournament in Winter Park, FL.  In preparation for the exclusive event the Florida League is pleased to announce a partnership with both DS Holdings and Zizmer-Jones Private Wealth Management Group of Raymond James for the 2018 Celebrity Golf Tournament. The two companies will be Presenting Sponsors for the marquee event.

DS Holdings has established itself as one of the most influential companies in the Central Florida baseball community. Their properties include BaseballCloud, RussMatt, Greater USSSA Baseball, Florida Scoutball, Central Florida Baseball League, and Datraks Pro among others. The DS Holdings group is headed by CEO Kevin Davidson, President of Baseball Operations Rob Sitz, President of DaTraks, Corey Whiting, COO Annie Codron and Chairman of the Board Joe Sleiman. All of the people in this group have been supporting the Florida League in various roles since 2004.

During the 2018 Florida League season, DaTraks provided Flightscope machines that were used at games and training sessions to capture advanced data. That data was then hosted on BaseballCloud’s revolutionary platform, giving players and coaches access to information that until now was only found at the highest professional levels.

The Zizmer-Jones Private Wealth Management Group of Raymond James is also supporting the Florida League as a presenting sponsor. Mike Zizmer and Newton Jones have been long-time supporters of the Florida League, participating in the event every year since its inception in 2008.

The Celebrity Golf Tournament was started in 2008 as a simple fundraiser for the Florida League. In the decade since, it has grown into one of the premier charity golf events in the state of Florida. Dozens of professional players have participated in the event including All-Stars, World Series Champions, Cy Young Award Winners and Hall of Famers. Names like David Price, Hunter Pence, Jose Bautista, Corey Kluber, Davey Johnson, Tim Wakefield, Gary Sheffield, Fred McGriff, Gary Carter and Jeff Bagwell have all supported the Florida League with an appearance at the event.

This year’s event will begin with the Pairings Party on Sunday, November 11th at Interlachen Country Club. Golfers, their guests, and local supporters are treated to delicious food, an open bar, celebrity guest speakers, and the opportunity to bid on unique items during a live auction.

On the following Monday, November 12th, a full field of foursomes will be joined by a professional baseball player in each group during their round at the prestigious Interlachen Country Club. The day of golf includes long drive and closest to the pin contests, free beer provided by Yuengling, and the opportunity for each group to use the drive of Bobby Bradley, 10-time World Long Drive finalist on a hole. Nike Golf operates a pop-up golf shop on site, while a number of sponsors including Christner's Prime Steak & Lobster, Tito's Handmade Vodka, Victory Casino, Dubsdread, Flightscope and others provide entertainment on different holes throughout the day.
