COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State University men’s hockey club team split their series against the Lewis University Flyers this past weekend. After this weekend’s games, the team record is now 3-3-0.

The Buckeyes headed into the weekend with confidence from the previous weekend’s wins against Virginia Tech University and Bowling Green University.

The series took place at the Easton Chiller Ice Rink, in Columbus, the Buckeyes taking on the Lewis University Flyers (3-7-0). The weekend started on a high note, with a dominant performance resulting in an 8-1 win. Sondej continued his offensive contributions, with a hat-trick. Notably, Schepflin added two goals, while Walsh, Malinak, and Shimko added one goal each.

Unfortunately, the Buckeyes could not complete the sweep Saturday night and the Lewis University Flyers ended on top with a 4-2 win. The two Buckeye goals came from Brady and Gross.

Jordan Hoy leads the Buckeye offensive so far this season with an impressive nine points in six games coming from six goals and three assists. Following him is Samuel Gross, Daniel Smith, and Nick Schantz with eight points each.

The Buckeyes are looking to build off of this weekend’s split as they look ahead to their next game vs. Ohio University this Friday November 2nd, 10:15 pm at Bird Arena.
