Big Sticks Re-sign Five Players for 2019

The Badlands Big Sticks have announced five players from the 2018 roster that have signed on to return for the 2019 season: pitchers Cort Dietrich and Nick Jennings, outfielder Gabe Knowles, and catchers Brayden Olson and Ben Thoma.

Cort Dietrich appeared in 22 games for the Big Sticks in 2018 with an ERA of 5.35 and 32 strikeouts over 38.2 innings pitched. The 6’5”, 205-pound right-hander is originally from Selah, WA and is currently in his second year at Spokane Falls Community College.

Nick Jennings appeared in 13 games for the Big Sticks earning an ERA of 8.67 and 28 strikeouts over 28 innings pitched. The 6’2”, 195-pound right hander is originally from Vancouver, WA and is in his second year at Lower Columbia College.

Gabe Knowles had 153 at-bats during the 2018 season earning an average of .320 and 29 runs, including 5 home runs. The 6’2”, 210-pound outfielder is originally from New Ulm, MN and is in his third year at the University of Minnesota.

Brayden Olson had 121 at-bats in 2018 recording and average of .289 and 11 runs, including 1 home run. The 6’2”, 230-pound catcher is originally from Spokane, WA and is in his first year at Barton College in North Carolina, after spending the previous two seasons at Spokane Falls Community College.

Ben Thoma had 166 at-bats for the Big Sticks in 2018 earning an average of .253 and 26 runs, including 2 home runs. The 5’11”, 205-pound catcher is originally from Clearbrook, MN and is in his second year at University of Minnesota- Crookston.
