The Civics are proud to announce the signing of 2000 born goaltender Brock Machholz to the roster for the upcoming 2018-2019 season in New Tecumseth.

Machholz, the 6’ netminder from Chilliwack, British Columbia will be joining the Civics roster as the youngest goalie but will be quickly looked upon to show his talent as a high level prospect who will be joining New Tecumseth after showing his promise with the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (BC Hockey Major Midget League), the Chilliwack Bruins Midget AAA program and the Princeton Posse Jr “B” Hockey Club of the KIJHL (Kootenay International Junior Hockey League).

When asked about joining the Civics Brock was proud to have his hard work recognized with this opportunity, “I am super excited to join the GMHL junior hockey Civics and have the chance to be reunited with my bantam teammate Tyson (Lambert). My style of play is quick and aggressive I love to play the puck and have been known to be that 3rd D man moving the puck to my forwards. After finishing my minor hockey playing AAA tier 1 with the Chilliwack Bruins in BC I am looking forward to the next jump in my hockey career playing junior in Ontario. My goal here is to help the Civics to a championship this season, I have always believed that you get out what you put in and the harder you work the greater the reward. With my goal being to play pro hockey I will be putting in as much work as possible this season and moving forward.”

Machholz also got called up to the prestigious BCHL in 2015-2016 where he would spend time over 4 games on the roster of the Chilliwack Chiefs Jr. “A” Hockey club with competition being amongst the best that Canadian Junior hockey has to offer.

Assistant General Manager Jordan Richardson was excited about the signing of the young goaltender, “The Civics staff is very excited for the signing of Brock to our roster, we have heard great things from his former coach and our current assistant coach Joe (Cathcart) and we really believe that Brock has the potential to develop into an elite level tendy in this league and with his past relationship with both Joe and Tyson we feel the chemistry is gonna be there right from the start of training camp.”

From all of us in Civic Nation we are proud to welcome you to New Tecumseth Brock and hope that what we have heard about you is all true and you bring an A1 Character both on and off the ice this season.
