FIVE NIGHTHAWKS NAMED ALL STARS

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. —The Upper Valley Nighthawks are thrilled to announce that five players from this summer's roster have been selected to represent the Northern Division at the 2018 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) All-Star Game.

Representing Upper Valley at the league's showcase event will be Jordan DiValerio (relief pitcher, St. Joseph’s University), infielder Chris Berry (2B reserve, University of North Florida), Anthony Quirion (3B reserve, Lamar University), Austin Wilhite (SS reserve, Georgia Tech), and Greg Hardison (DH reserve, UNC Greensboro).

The Valley Blue Sox will host the 2018 NECBL All-Star Game on Sunday, July 29. The All-Star Game showcases the NECBL’s top talent in a fun-filled afternoon and evening of the best the league has to offer – with players from all 13 NECBL franchises showcasing their skills in front of scouts from every Major League Baseball (MLB) organization. Pregame ceremonies are scheduled for 5:10 p.m., with first pitch to follow shortly afterward. A full itinerary can be found here. 

For the fourth straight season, ALL NECBL fans will have their voices heard for the final player selections of the 2018 NECBL All-Star Game roster! Beginning at midnight on Monday, July 23, fans can vote for one of 13 players nominated by the league for the 2018 NECBL All-Star Game Fan Vote. The players with the most votes from each division will take to the diamond next Sunday as the 30th members of each team. Check back at Vote18.NECBL.com beginning Monday (July 23) at midnight to learn more about how to vote! Note that voting concludes at Thursday, July 26, at 11:59 p.m. UPPER VALLEY FANS CAN VOTE FOR PITCHER JORDY ALLARD, AND HELP SEND A 6TH NIGHTHAWK TO THE ALL STAR GAME!


The summer may be winding down, but there are still THREE more opportunities to catch the Nighthawks in action at The Max! The team returns home on Saturday, July 28th for Diamond Dig Night, sponsored by Von Bargen’s Jewelry. First pitch between the Upper Valley Nighthawks and the Vermont Mountaineers is scheduled for 6:30 P.M.
