NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Chris Berry went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles on his 22nd birthday and guided the Upper Valley Nighthawks to a 6-4 road victory over the North Adams SteepleCats on Friday evening.

The Nighthawks (19-16) plated a run in the 1st inning when Anthony Meduri (Binghamton University) drove in Chris Berry (University of North Florida) on a sacrifice fly to right field.

Back-to-back RBI hits from Joe Poricelli and Matt Koperniak put two runs on the board for the SteepleCats in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Berry countered in the next inning for Upper Valley, as he added two runs to the tally after driving in Bryant Bowen (University of Southern Mississippi) and Ty Adcock (Elon University).

The Nighthawks' bats stayed hot in the 7th, as Austin Wilhite (Georgia Tech) drove in Berry to give Upper Valley a 4-2 lead.

Dillon Mendel’s 2-RBI single in the bottom of the 7th tied the game up at 4 with two frames left to play.

An RBI-double from Adcock in the 8th, and a sacrifice fly from Matt Tarabek (Fordham University) led the Nighthawks to a crucial victory over the Northern Divisional rival.

Upper Valley starter Levi Thomas (Fordham University) six innings, surrendering two runs on hits, and striking out eight. Reliever Jordy Allard (Southern New Hampshire University) (W) gave up three hits, two runs, and struck out a pair of SteepleCats in his one inning of work. AJ Franklin (Vanderbilt University) finished off the night for Upper Valley and was credited with the save.
