Milton Keynes Lightning have signed 25-year-old Canadian forward David Norris.

The Calgary native spent the past two seasons with Arizona State University, registering 28 points in 52 games for the Sun Devils.

Prior to this, Norris played NCAA for American International College, making the NCAA (AHA) All-Rookie Team in 2013/14, before transferring to Arizona in 2015 - a move which required him to sit out the 2015/16 season under NCAA transfer rules.

“I am extremely excited for this opportunity to play at the next level and develop my hockey game,” Norris said. “I can’t wait to experience the culture and everything the UK and Milton Keynes have to offer!”

Norris joins a growing number of players moving to the EIHL straight out of college, with Lightning coach Doug McKay believing his latest signing is well placed to succeed:

“David is going to be a player that I believe will adapt well to the UK league. He has good size and he's a good skater. Although unproven at a professional level, he has a great work ethic, attitude and shows great promise in his ability on the ice.

“He deserves the opportunity to prove himself on a professional stage and I am excited to see him grow with us.”
