Meet Andrew Rapoza, Noah Stern, C.J. Dandeneau, Austin Markmann

The 2018 Bay Sox assemble to practice for the first time this weekend in preparation for next Tuesday night's home opener against the Newport Gulls. Here are more of the players who make-up this season's 10th-anniversary team.

 Andrew Rapoza – The sophomore from New Bedford, MA started all 50 games for Barry University, leading Bucs’ regulars in hits (69), on-base percentage (.427), and stolen bases (16).  His .352 batting average was second on the team, and Rapoza added ten doubles, four homers, 37 RBIs, and 45 runs scored in his stellar 2018 campaign.

Noah Stern – Stern struggled in limited action for Barry University this spring, as the sophomore from Highland Park, IL posted a 15.88 ERA in six appearances for the Bucs, allowing ten earned runs in 5.2 innings on the hill.  He did post a 2.12 ERA at Highland Park High in 2016 and spent his freshman year at Division III Webster College before moving to Barry.

C.J. Dandeneau – The North Smithfield, RI junior is back in the NECBL after going 1-1 with one save in 12 appearances with the Plymouth Pilgrims in 2017.  Dandeneau resided in the UConn bullpen this spring, matching his NECBL record (1-1, 1 SV) while striking out 22 batters in 23.0 innings of work.

Austin Markmann – Markmann appeared in 47 games for Sacred Heart in 2018, hitting two homers while driving in 15 runs in his sophomore season.  The infielder/pitcher was fifth on the Pioneers with 22 runs scored and had six doubles and 11 free passes on the year.
