Meet Ryan LaMay, Elijah Brown, Jared Shuster, and Sam Henrie

Date:  Source: New Bedford Bay Sox

Ryan LaMay – The freshman right-handed pitcher made six starts for Sacred Heart in 2018, posting a 1-2 record with a 5.40 ERA.  LaMay averaged nearly a strikeout per inning, whiffing 27 batters in 28.1 innings.

Elijah Brown – Brown was a blur on the bases for Sacred Heart this season, swiping 18 bags while only getting caught stealing one time.  The sophomore infielder from Bishop Hendricken HS led the Pioneers with 31 walks, and had 11 extra-base hits (seven doubles, two triples, two home runs) in 47 games in 2018.

Jared Shuster – The freshman from Wake Forest comes home for the summer, as the New Bedford native was one of the best prospects in the state after posting huge numbers at Tabor Academy both at the plate and on the mound.  Shuster pitched in 22 of the Demon Deacons’ 57 games in 2018, making six starts with 32 strikeouts in 34.0 innings, while holding opposing batters to a .233 average.

Sam Henrie – Henrie played in 33 games for the Southern New Hampshire Penmen during his freshman season, scoring 16 runs with three doubles, one homer, and eight RBIs.  Henrie should feel right at home with the Bay Sox, as he resides in nearby Middleboro, MA and spent his high school career at Old Rochester, where he was the 2016 Standard-Times Baseball Player of the Year.
