Premier Mariners Travel North and Earn A Split May 20th, 2018

Riding high on their sweep of the Chiefs the day before, the boys in blue travelled to Parksville for 2 hard fought games against the royals. Game 1 ended in a 1 run victory led by the solid pitching performances of the Doorschot and Collette tandem. Doorschot pitched 5 innings allowing 2 unearned runs, earning the win while; Collette pitched 2 clean innings to earn the save. On the offensive side, the mariners scored 3 runs on 5 hits with Weir and Mayhew scoring the 3 runs. Here’s the link to the box score.

In the second game the Mariners found themselves in another tight contest. Davidoff toed the rubber for the Mariners going 4 innings before giving the ball to Sjerven, Endo and Anderson. Unfortunately, the boys fell 1 run short losing 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th. Of note, however, the Mariners have gone 7 and 1 in their last 8 games. The Mariners scored 3 runs on 10 hits while leaving 11 runners on base. Here’s the link to the box score.
