Great Britain defenceman Mark Richardson says he was pleased at how the team came together to secure the 5-3 win over Poland in the World Championships.

Richardson, who made his 75th appearance for his country, picked up an assist in the opening goal by Brett Perlini to help GB on their way.

And he spoke of his pride at reaching such a milestone and how much he enjoys playing for the national team.

"Poland are a great nation and we have some terrific battles against them," the Cardiff Devils defenceman said.

"We made it hard work for ourselves in the second period but we came back and secured a terrific win.

"There is a great spirit in the camp and I think that showed with the way we found a way to get the win."

"The most important thing was to get the victory but it was great to reach 75 caps. To reach such a milestone is special and I love playing for GB."
