A long-time Trenton Golden Hawk has chosen to continue his hockey career as a Golden Hawk.

Captain Mac Lewis is heading to Wilfrid Laurier University for the 2018-19 USports season.

The 20-year old Uxbridge, Ont. native improved his point total in three years with the Golden Hawks. He posted 39 points (18 goals and 21 assists) this past season after notching 36 points in the G-Hawks Dudley Hewitt Cup winning season of 2016-17.

In his first season in Trenton (2015-16), Lewis was utilized in a depth role on a strong Golden Hawks squad that went all the way to the semi-final of the Royal Bank Cup in Lloydminster, Alberta. He recorded 10 points that year.

Along with some timely offence, Lewis was noted for his good leadership on the ice and in the dressing room and his willingness to get physical when his team needed a spark made him and fan favourite and earned him the respect of his coaches and teammates.

Lewis becomes the fifth Trenton Golden Hawk in the last few years to join the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, joining 2015-16 co-captain Danny Hanlon, forwards Anthony Sorrentino and Jeremy Pullara and recently committed defenceman James Thomson (all members of the 2016-17 team)

The Golden Hawks organization and fans would like to thank Mac for his time and contributions to the club and wish him all the best as he moves forward with his university career.
