Kitchener clips Thunder Bay at peewee provincials

ESSEX, Ont. – Kyler Morgan had a goal and three assists to help pace the Kitchener Jr. Rangers to a convincing 6-0 victory over the Thunder Bay Kings Wednesday afternoon in Day 3 play at the All-Ontario Peewee Hockey Championship in Essex, Ont.

Kitchener’s power play was instrumental in the triumph as they scored four times with the man advantage in the win.

Hunter Welk posted the shutout for the Jr. Rangers who held intermission leads of 1-0 and 3-0 before tacking on a trio of tallies in the third period to put the game away.

Oliver Tuchenhagen suffered the loss in net for Thunder Bay.

The 1-3 Kings will conclude round robin play Thursday as they take on the Oakville Rangers at 8 a.m. before finishing up against the Ottawa Senators at 4 p.m.

The top four clubs in the seven-team field will advance to medal round play Friday.
