The U18 Belle Tire team won the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association State Championships this year, becoming the first team to ever win the John Kay Memorial Cup. This new award given to the winner of the U18 Michigan State Championship, honors the late John Kay, a longtime coach of the Belle Tire team and an instrumental part of the creation and continuation of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League.
