After 3 days of fast-paced, hard-hitting hockey, the Tier 1 Elite League is proud to announce the U18 season champions, the North Jersey Avalanche!! The Avalanche played the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite in the finals at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine Minnesota. The game was a back and forth contest, but the Avalanche secured a 5-1 lead going into the third. Pittsburgh rallied and scored one to bring it closer in the third period, but the Avalanche held them off and finished the game with a 5-2 final score. This win in the U18 division coincides with a NJ Avalanche Championship victory in the U16, giving the Avs the hardware across both Midget divisions. Congratulations to the NJ Avalanche on cinching the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup!!!
