It was a proud moment for the Ottawa Nepean Canadians organization when the red and black ONC ball cap graced the stage at this past year's Ottawa Sports Awards.
Angus Adams, currently a member of the Ottawa Nepean Canadians 18U team, was recently honoured for his outstanding season in 2017.
Angus played center field, batted lead-off, and took a regular weekend start on the mound. He batted .296 with a .451 on-base percentage while pitching his way to a 1.26 ERA in 30 innings. Angus was also selected to Team Ontario and played a pivotal role at the Canada Summer Games.
In 2017, the Ottawa Sports Awards celebrated its 65th year of recognizing athletic excellence in Ottawa. The Ottawa Sports Awards are known as the most comprehensive and inclusive amateur sport recognition program in Canada. Each year the Ottawa Sports Awards recognizes the best amateur athlete in Ottawa in 65 different sports. Recent winners include Erica Wiebe who won Olympic gold in wrestling, Rachel Homan the current world curling champion, and Vincent De Haitre a cycling and speed skating athlete.
It is with great pride that Angus was recognized with such esteemed athletes from the Ottawa-area.
