UNCASVILLE, Conn. (December 6, 2017) – The New England Black Wolves have named Shawn Evans team captain while Brett Manney and Kyle Buchanan will serve as assistant captains.
 
It is the second consecutive season in which Evans will serve as captain and the third as assistants for Manney and Buchanan.
 
"When you look up the definition of a captain the word leader appears in the definition and I believe we have three of the best leaders in the NLL as our captains,” Black Wolves General Manager Rich Lisk said.  “Shawn Evans is a player who leads by example on the field and he is one most respected players in the NLL. Kyle Buchanan is a player that has developed into an elite NLL player not just on the field but off of it and also represents the organization with the PLPA. Brett Manney is a special talent as he is one of the only American born players to wear an letter in the NLL and that speaks volume of his leadership skills."
