Date:  Source: Elite Ice Hockey League

Milton Keynes Lightning ended their weekend in Scotland with victory as they took the points in a 5-2 win over bottom of the table Edinburgh Capitals.

Guillaume Doucet opened the scoring for the visitors inside the opening eight minutes, but that was cancelled out by Mike Cazzola, who levelled for Edinburgh in the second.

Two quick goals turned the tide of the game in MK’s favour as Denny Kearney struck on the powerplay as the Caps took a Too Many Men penalty.

Then Kyle Essery opened up a two-goal advantage for Pete Russell’s men, making life more difficult for the home side.

Kevin King added number four for Lightning in the early exchanges of the third period with an unassisted finish.

While Dillon Lawrence got Edinburgh’s second to give them a glimmer of hope, they couldn’t make their mark afterwards as victory became more and more assured for Pete Russell’s side.

Francis Verrault-Paul applied the icing on the cake with MK’s fifth with a couple of minutes to go to send their contingent of fans that made the trip north of the border, home happy.
